Our 2011 Holiday Party was this past Saturday. We had about 116 people attend. Pictures are posted in the photo gallery and we are printing out some in the union office. A special thank you to everyone who helped out! We will begin planning next year's event in February or March and will get a committee of volunteers together after the new year. I will be out of state for the holidays so I want to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year! Read More...

On August 27, 2011 we sponsored a team to participate in the 2011 Sportsmen's Alliance Clay Shoot in Wasilla. The team consisted of: Carrie - VSR VBA, Barbara - RN Surgical, Konstance - PSA ICS, and Leah - RN Primary Care. This is the second year that we have sponsored the event and both times we have had nothing but positive comments. I've been told the event is a blast and is extremely well organized. Guns and ammo are provided and after the shoot everyone gathers in the clubhouse for food, awards and prizes. Some of our members won prizes and several were surprised at the conservation efforts of this organization, it's not just about hunting! Everyone had a great time and we hope the membership will sponsor this event in 2012 as well. Leah sent pictures which we have posted in the photo gallery. I hope you will take the time to view the pictures - Grouse Ridge is beautiful! You can also view pictures on their website at: www.unionsportsmen.org.
For anyone interested in a hunting/outdoors reality show, the Brotherhood Outdoors TV show is looking for union members to be on the show. In some episodes, host Tom Ackerman will take the guest on an outfitted hunting or fishing trip in North America. In others, the tables will be turned as the Union guest acts as the guide, taking Tom to his or her favorite honey hole. Whether you want to join Tom for a guided hunting or fishing adventure OR show your Union brothers and sisters and the rest of America that you?ve got the skill and experience to be the guide, get your application in today and be a star on Brotherhood Outdoors! We have attached the application for anyone who is interested. Or, you can go to the Union Sportsmen's Alliance website for more details.
